Motivation at Any Age

   Posted by: LiseFuller    in uncategorized

Many of you know that I’m really into motivating people to achieve their dreams. At 54, I’ve done a lot of what I wanted to do but there is so much more. I recently found this site which highlights people who have made a big change in their lives. They are older people, yet I thought, how much of an adventure is that?? Here’s the site. Check it out. I think, like I did, you’ll find it invigorating and motivating. If you want to have a particular adventure, now’s the time. It’s called Second Act and I found it on yahoo. Here’s the link: http://vitality.yahoo.com/video-second-act-lisa-fisco-20332366. This one is on a female weight lifter, which is what originally caught my eye (as some of you know, I love to lift). Oh, and another one that I thought was really incredible was the one on Donald Arthur. Simply scroll through the screens. These are people who empower.

Enjoy, and many blessings!

Trista is finally free. She’s divorced her loser of a husband, her two children are grown, and she’s now free to discover who she is and live her life as she pleases. She married her husband because she was pregnant, but the real reason her marriage failed is because she could never forget the man of her dreams. Blond hair, turquoise eyes and a body to die for. No man could compare. But as she’s walking in the woods she sees her dream man in the flesh, and as she’s struck with pain and faints, he reaches out. To claim her.

Rurik has come to Earth for the last time to finally claim his mate. But his enemies are there as well and before he can intervene they shoot her. He whisks her back to his spaceship and the marvels of his race restore her. Completely. Back to her body when she was in her thirties, not fifty as she really is. Rurik is determined to have a life with Trista as they should have had all along, and he’ll die to keep her. Too bad she thinks she’s stuck in her dream world and that he is still a figment of her imagination.

When I read that this woman’s body was restored to her pre-child state, I was hooked. What a fantasy, never mind the romance! But this book was so fabulous I couldn’t put it down. With several storylines intertwining, it was riveting. Rurik and Trista’s relationship is complex and full of twists and turns. Add in the politics and intrigue of Rurik’s position on his world, and Trista’s conviction she’s dreaming, and the fun never stops. It’s impossible to go into detail without ruining the story, but this book will be on my keeper shelf, and I anxiously await the stories of other characters in the book that are sure to come. A real winner.

Claimed — out with Ellora’s Cave March 5th!

   Posted by: LiseFuller    in uncategorized

Finally, I’ll have my first book under my new pen name “Elle Amour” out this Friday, March 5th. These stories are more edgy and exploratory–at least for me. So if you’ll indulge me, here’s the blurb and a short excerpt. Claimed is the first book of the series I’ve called Mate Seekers. Enjoy, and please check out my new site at http://elleamour.com/main.html! I love it. I hope you do too. (Oh, and this link bypasses the 18 and older screen, so beware! The site is hot!)

BLURB ~

Book 1 in the Mate Seeker series.

Trista is living every middle-aged woman’s fantasy—she wakes to find her body is pre-kids, pre-stretch marks and pre-gravity. Oh yeah! What’s more, the lover sharing her fantasy—blond hair, piercing turquoise eyes and a sculpted body to drool over—makes her feel like the sexy teen she was back when he first visited her dreams. Except this is no fantasy, and Rurik the Conqueror is no dream lover. He’s real, he’s not from Earth, and this time he’s come to claim her.

Rurik had known Trista of Earth was his by the Svendian way—her scent. A war and fears for her safety were all that kept him from staking his claim years ago, but no longer. He needs her like he needs his next breath. But unknown forces intrude on his plans and Rurik finds she’s in greater danger than ever. This time he’s not giving up, and he’ll die to protect the woman who completes his soul in a way he never imagined.

EXCERPT ~

Chapter One

His woman.

He could smell her in the mists. From behind a tree he watched her lope through the woods, gliding like a nymph. She’d grown older since he’d last spied her. He knew she would have a few lines on her face, a few white hairs she tried to cover up within her dark hair, but his blood still yearned for her.

Hidden, Rurik watched a trickle of sweat roll down her face. She’d lost some weight since he last came. How many of Earth’s years had passed now?

Too long. It was time he claimed her.

She came closer, her head bowed toward the ground, seeming deep in thought.

A green light whizzed past, almost nicking him. The laser struck a tree near the woman, causing her to lift her head and stare straight at him.

Another shot fired as he pulled his pistol. His enemies had found him. “Run,” he yelled at her, wanting, needing her to get away.

Another silent volley. Rurik grabbed her and ducked but too late. The laser had wounded her.

“You,” she whispered, and collapsed into his arms.

Snowmagedon

   Posted by: LiseFuller    in uncategorized

Hi, all. Time seems to have stood still with all the snow we’ve received in the East. These Easterners just aren’t used to this. My son has been out of school for over two weeks and today was the first day they’ve had back.

Which got me to thinking…weather emergencies like this snow, or worse, like the earthquake in Haiti, push us sometimes to do incredible things. Drop a note and share with us some of those things you’ve experienced. We would love to hear it! Leave us a note.

Guest Blogger–V.J. Devereaux on “Night Moves”

   Posted by: LiseFuller    in uncategorized

LISE: V.J.! Thanks for coming to our site. So, what do you like most about action/adventure stories and why did you write one?

V.J.: First, I want to say this. I LOVE ACTION ADVENTURE MOVIES! LOL! But I always hated the heroine standing on the sidelines screaming helplessly. Hated it. A history buff, it had always fascinated me to read about the women who had dressed as men to fight in wars – both in the Revolutionary War and the Civil War. The same was true of the women spies. I”m thinking of that female police officer who went toward the line of fire at Fort Hood. That’s who I wanted to be when I grew up. So all my heroines are strong women, tough but tender, capable and not ashamed of it. Some of them have been a little too tough, I’m told. (I haven’t even published the book about the female assassin who’s a traceuse – a form of urban physical discipline called Parkour! Amazing stuff parkour. Look it up on line.)

I wrote Night Moves because I wanted to write a different take on the standard vampire story with a different kind of heroine. And because there was always that question – If a vampire killed all of its victims when it fed, and/or all of them would turn into vampires, then wouldn’t the world be full of vampires? I had to answer that. LOL!

LISE: Cool! So tell us a little about your book.

V.J.: Sure, although in this story the adventure is more an accident of fate….

LISE: LOL! Aren’t the best ones that way? Shoot–tell us!

V.J.:  Okay, Rafi Carteret sees herself as just another civil servant, just trying to do her job, but the hours are crappy and her job isn’t as glamorous as it looks on TV. She ’s just looking for a little relief, some companionship, maybe someone to come home to, when she meets Michael Niculescu on an internet date. So he’s a vampire. He’s tall, sexy, and gorgeous. And so is his cousin. Neither they nor Rafi know that a vampire hunter is on their trail until they disappear and then it’s up to Rafi to rescue them.

LISE: So, you have an excerpt you’d like to share?

V.J.: Sure, here’s a snippet:

Clearly and with unmistakable authority a sharp voice snapped from the doorway, “Metro Police. Detective Lieutenant Raphaela Carteret. Put down the weapon, Mr. Godwin, or I will shoot. Piss me off and I might shoot you anyway but if you harm one hair on Nico’s head, I will fucking kill you.” The last was a snarl. Everyone’s eyes shot to the slender figure braced in the doorway, the gun in her hand pointed directly at Godwin as she flipped open a badge with the other. Her picture on it was clear, as was the shiny gold detective’s shield beside it. The sight of Nico with a stake over his heart was nearly more than Rafi could bear. The despair and fear for Nico and for her on Michael’s handsome face was almost as bad. Along with the sure knowledge that Michael would be next. Crawling across the floor of that horrible room, scrabbling to find her hoodie in the dark, her badge and weapon concealed in it—a relic of her undercover days—had been terrible, knowing what they would face in this room. Desperate, trying to find the strength to make it so far with her heart hammering inside her. She was so weak. She had forced herself to keep moving, seeing Michael’s face, Nico’s, in her mind, wanting something more than memory after the events of this day. She didn’t dare look too closely at either of them but she knew with every cell in her body where they were in the room. Even pinned to the altar by the hands of Godwin’s men, with fear and fury burning through him as he struggled to free himself, Nico’s eyes went to Rafi in the doorway, his heart shattering to see her so pale, battered and bruised, her gun locked now in both hands, her dark blue eyes desperate but resolute. Furious, terrified.

LISE: Sounds awesome, Val. Now, how can people check the book out and what’s your website addy?
