Slacker, Thy Name Is Sam

Posted by: Samantha Kane   in uncategorized

I got a new MacBook last weekend. I’ve been having so much fun playing with my new computer this week. I actually made a video on it! Maybe that’s not a big deal to some of you guys, but it was a major accomplishment for me. I was going to post it here, but it’s too big. :-( I’m still learning the ins and outs, obviously. But I will definitely be making more videos because it was so much fun. The video wasn’t promotional. It was about how much I love my new Mac. This probably breaches blog protocol, but I did get it uploaded on my other blog, although it took forever. But WordPress wouldn’t let me do it. If you want to see it, go Here. I’ll make the next one shorter so I can post it here at DZA.

I’ve got big writing plans this year, as I mentioned last week, but I’m not really progressing as I should. Instead, as I just told you, I’ve spent the week playing with my new computer and making silly videos. Author, discipline thyself. Ack.

I’m working (read ::should be working::) on the introduction to a charity anthology of menage stories coming this spring from Phaze Books. If anyone reading this (Hello? Hello? Is there anyone out there?!) writes menage, I’d love to get your take on WHY you write it. What is the attraction for writers, not readers, of menage? The challenges and rewards of writing it? I’m just doing an informal survey, since that’s the focus of my intro.

Just a note that I’ll be here every Friday unless otherwise noted. Robie Madison is now posting every other Monday.

I’ll try to have more for you next week. I swear.

I bought a Macbook last year (my earlier iMac I bought in 1998, and it was really time to upgrade), and unfortunately, I promptly had wrist problems. Took me quite a while to get used to it, but it’s a marvelous little thing.

I’m loving it. BUT, I’ve only had it for a week, so haven’t written a book on it yet. It is different to type on, and I have chronic back problems which are exacerbated by the typing. So, we’ll see.

I meant typing on any computer, not just the Mac.

Hi Sam, I’ve been playing with my Nook and dh bought a new PC so we’ve been trying to set that up, er… he has been. The old pc is shot and about to crash. So, trying to get back to the regular routine after the holidays screwed everything up. LOL. I love menage stories, reading and writing them. I enjoy delving into the emotions and dynamics between the characters. I’ve written a couple where the heroine is torn between two men. Like those too.

How do you like the Nook? I haven’t heard much about it, don’t know anyone else who has it.

I think menage stories have the potential to be much more emotional than traditional romances, although not all are. But it is one thing I love about them.
