Tongue-In-Cheek: I’m Not Writing
September was an experience I’m not sure I’d want to repeat. I spent a few days feeling whipped out after an illness. Took a while to get my physical mojo back. Now I feel pretty perky, except when I try to push too hard. Facing surgery sometime soon, I’ve had to make some choices. I decided I wouldn’t feel bad anymore about not writing for a while. I decided, “I’m not writing.” Here’s how it’s gone so far.
1. I didn’t write when I gave Beth Kery my blog as her guest author on www.bethkery.com for October 5.
2. I wasn’t writing when I gave Cynthia Eden my guest blog for her Month of Monsters. My segment came out his month on October 15.
3. I wasn’t writing when I designed a blog for Danger Zone Authors every Tuesday at www.dangerzoneauthors.com.
4. I wasn’t writing when I read a scene from my current work in process and added a couple of sentences to a paragraph.
5. I wasn’t writing when I responded to some notes in my email.
6. I wasn’t writing when I responded to some notes in my Yahoo and Google groups.
7. I wasn’t writing when I did a blog every other week for The Bradford Bunch www.thebradfordbunch.com
8. I wasn’t writing when I wrote this blog.
Hmm. It’s apparent to me that as hard as I might try not to write, I’m still writing. And soon I’ll be writing more and more and more until my work in progress is finished. It’s just not on a timetable these days or a rush. There’s no absolute must have date. So what are you writing these days? Or should I ask, what are you NOT writing?
